Having three lines of karaoke while “Only My Railgun” was playing during the final fight with the AIM burst was very distracting though.
I agree with RA. It was disappointing to see the three lines in the .srt track too.
just edit it out then?
Today, I was destroyed by a certain scientific railgun moments after I was born. FML
During the insert song, I couldn’t see the Kanji lyrics, only boxes.
They were there when using VLC as a test, am I missing the required font? or else anyone know what’s wrong?
I’m using CCCP and MPC-HC and I watched the episode no completely, just that one problem.
Nope no idea, maybe FYL?
IT definitely wasn’t VLC’s problem. I’m watching it in VLC ( I don’t like CCCP + WMP), and I can see the kanji fine.
Use codecs, buy/make a computer with less then 5-8 year old parts.
VLC is not the answer to computer illiteracy.
That’s my answer: try K-lite if you want to keep it simple.
Anyway, not what I came to say.
Thank you Ayako, I loved this show.. I’m an old guy, and loved old comics.. I think we finally answered that question of “What’s the greatest super power?”
In a fight between Jene that can’t do anything right; Rogue who goes slowly insane by using her power, and little Railgun, yeah, she’d destroy the X-men.
God she could probably finalize wolverine too if you think about what her power would do to his bones.
Still I want to see them finish index, and show who the other 3 “level 5″‘s are.
VLC is no good.. I ran it for a long time because it -does- have one thing going for it..
It has a great ability to run files that arn’t fully downloaded…
I used to use it to preview movies before they where finished downloading…
But it’s not on my computer anymore, and that’s because I felt no need to keep a program for doing just that…
If you want an actual movie player Windows Media player -classic- is actually awsome.
Despite the name, it’s only called that because of the source code.. It’s actually evolved into something totally differant in the last 10 years, thanks to hackers.

VLC is simply not what you want to use to run anime that sometimes uses strange founts and multipull sound and subtitle tracks, at the least you want something that can run .mkv right in this day and age.
I must’ve worded my question weird… I mean I’m using MPC with CCCP and having the Kanji subtitles show up as boxes for the intro song scene.
I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 prof. on my computer, so this is the first anime I’ve run under it. I may be missing something basic that I have forgotten to re-install into my new system.

Total Shit editing again this week. And WTF is with the 3 line karaoke? Can’t you keep the format the same? 3 lines of the same sentence in english, or english on the kanji line and only one word in kanji.
Quailty has been really slipping lately. Are you going to do v2′s of any of these?
I think the kanji has something to do with the file, I use mpc with cccp and this is the first time i’ve seen such a thing in the thousands of files i’ve viewed
TY!…. but please release a v2 with all errors fixed and karaoke removed during final battle…… looked ridiculous, blocked the view and distracted. Other than that… great release lol

i guess majutsu no index s2 will start after this series ends, as some of the lose ends from s1 seems to me are being covered here.
as far as VLC: great on my laptop, but poorly on my hdtv, specially for upscaled 4:3 or 16:9 — shows extremely pixelated and/or interlaced, depending on the video.
MPC-HC works great on both and has become my player of choice for multi-lang and multi-sub videos.
WMP windows 7 is good but tends to crash for some odd reason…. on vista is fine, but when i pass the mouse over the time line it has a few playback issues.
CCCP is my codec pack of choice and it has never given me any trouble so far. Maybe a missing font is what gives you the squares?
and the episode was great but i’ll agree with everyone else: the 3-line karaoke on the last fight was distracting and obstructive.

And there’s no missing font, the problem lies in your computer – you lack the language support.
Long version:
Thanks for your guys’ support, but the problem appears to have solved itself. I deleted my old XP partition and increased my data partition to cover for the new space… and for some reason the video now show the kanji subtitles. I don’t know why I checked afterwards, but to my surprise it now works. Something changed in the 4 hours it took to expand my data partition, Railgun 12 was there, but CCCP is in my system partition, so I honestly have no idea what was broken and how it got fixed.
Short version:
It works now yay!
i don’t know why yous are all complaining if u want to see the fight without the karaoke you can always just turn the subs off for the duration of the fight i mean its not as if you need to be a genius to figure that out….
Most people don’t have a hotkey to turn subs off, though. mplayer w/VDPAU FTW. :3
Now.. about the “This is level 5″ line. Did anyone else wonder about her tone of voice? It sounded more like “This is.. level 5?” to me.
