OK here we go. H264 a bit delayed (3-4 hours), but I really need to go to bed, I have an exam in the morning and need to sleep a lill’ bit, lol.
Edit: Yes, OK, it took me a slight bit longer, but it’s out now. Next episode: around November or December, i guess. Sadly.

rename the XVID one from .mkv to .avi and enjoy (or not, if your player complains, lol.).
Honestly, .MKV is just a different container than .AVI, you can prolly extract the video from the .MKV container and mux the audio with AviMuxGui or something into it and enjoy your .AVI, if you need it.

No, they want AVI coz they want to play them in stand-alone DivX players or iPods. I use XviD4PSP to convert so no complaints for me. :P

h.264 is to Computer
Xvid is to DVD player and TV
but seems like i can’t extract the video from the xvid correctly because it was encoded via VFR….

Re-encode it again using MegUI or VirtualDubMod, using 2-pass will fix it back to CFR.
If your using a Mac and you want MVK’s in AVI or in MP4 use “MKV Tools” program you just have to select the settings you want from the MKV like Audio, video, Subtitle’s just remeber to select 1 of each depending if the MKV has Jap and Eng audio and Jap and Eng subs. Some MKV’s give you that option this is just a reminder, seemed obvious to me when I used it.

Well I was just passing by and i must say that AVI…hauahuahauhau…sorry, couldn’t stop laughing, AVI is video for win9x mi amigos! the future is MKV (is a old container through, but tha way is MKV+H264+AAC for compress or FLAC for lossless and ASS for subtitle. For windows play i must sugest MPC Homecinema or Star MP
